The Academy of Ancient Music is deeply saddened to announce the death of Christopher Hogwood CBE, conductor, musicologist, keyboard player and founder of the Academy of Ancient Music. Christopher Hogwood passed away on 24 September 2014.

2014: Annus horribilis pour la musique baroque. J’en ai marre d’annoncer cette succession de tristes nouvelles. Je suis d’autant plus émue de la disparition de C Hogwood que c’est grâce à lui, il y a 30 ans, que j’ai découvert la musique ancienne alors que j’étudiai la flûte traversière (moderne) au conservatoire et que ma passion a débuté…
